Schedule of Application

The latest application period for the Midwives Licensure Examination (MLE) was from January 14, 2026 to March 16, 2026.

• MLE Opening of Application: January 14, 2026
• MLE Deadline of Application: March 16, 2026

• MLE Examination Date: April 14 & 15, 2026

Requirement for Filing the Application

These are the documents and requirements you must have to Midwives apply for the Midwives Board Exam.

General requirements:

1. PSA Birth Certificate
2. PSA Marriage Contract (for married female applicants)
3. TOR with scanned picture and Remarks “For Board Examination Purposes” (First Timers and Repeaters)

Graduate Midwife:

1. Record of the following procedures actually handled by the applicant, supervised by the Clinical Instructor, and certified correct by the Principal/Dean and duly notarized:
   • Five (5) SUTURING of PERINEAL LACERATIONS (1st or 2nd degree)
   • Five (5) INTRAVENOUS FLUID INSERTIONS
   • Twenty (20) NORMAL DELIVERIES
   • Twenty (20) INTERNAL EXAMINATIONS

2. The Principal or Dean must have a health-related Master’s Degree

3. The submitted cases shall be obtained during the immediate past five (5) years prior to the examination.

4.Certificate of Training of the clinical instructor who supervised the cases from a training program on the expanded functions of Midwives under RA No. 7392 accredited by the CPD Council for Midwives

Registered Nurse:

• Record of the following procedures actually handled and supervised by a registered and trained Midwife on the expanded functions under RA No. 7392, which must be certified and signed by the City Health Officer/Municipal Health Officers/Chief of Hospital and duly notarized:
  • The submitted cases shall be obtained during the immediate past five (5) years prior to the examination
  • Certificate of Training of the Midwife who supervised the cases from a training program on the expanded functions of Midwives under RA No. 7392 accredited by the CPD Council for Midwives
  • Certificate of Consent from the hospital or birthing centers where the cases were Performed
  • Certificate of Consent from the hospital or birthing centers where the cases were Performed

Repeaters:

• Submit cases obtained in the immediate five (5) years under Resolution No. 4 (s.2019) shall be strictly observed
  • Payment: P600.00

How to Apply for the Midwives Board Exam

So, you’re ready to become a licensed midwife? That’s great! Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you apply for the Midwives Licensure Examination (MLE) without the stress.

Step 1: Make Sure You’re Ready to Apply

Before anything else, check if you’re qualified:

• ✅ You’re a Filipino citizen
• ✅ You’ve finished a Degree in Midwifery
• ✅ You’ve gathered all the required documents (see Step 2!)
• ✅ The MLE application schedule is already open (check the schedule of application above!)

If all your answers are YES, you’re good to go!

Step 2: Prepare These Documents and Requirements

Now it’s time to gather your documents. Make sure you have both digital copies (for online upload) and printed copies (for your PRC visit).

Here’s what you need:

1. PSA Birth Certificate
2. Transcript of Records (TOR) with scanned photo and remarks: “For Board Examination Purposes”
3. PSA Marriage Certificate (if you’re a married female)
4. Valid NBI Clearance (required for both first-time takers and repeaters)
5. Application Fee: ₱900 (plus ₱20 service fee if you pay online)

Step 3: Create or Log In to Your PRC LERIS Account

Go to the PRC online portal:
